Nice job Lorenzini! Very solid. It gets tricky when instruments are recorded after the drums. They may or may not completly lock in with what you've already done. That's out of your control. Sometimes, I've been allowed to redo the drums after all of the other instruments and vocals have been added. This alows the drummer to react to the stuff he/she didn't get hear the first time around.
Overall, nice sounding track!

Thanks for the continued input! Danny, the tambourine and clap tracks were additions by the producer. I noticed the same inconsistency of the clap track, which was brought up to the producer. His response was that he liked the loose feel. As a drummer, I want to hear exact consistency with each of the percussive parts or a clean and even space between the instruments. Maybe that is why I was compelled to get feedback from you guys, because I needed to be reassured that I was hearing the same thing. It is so hard to have an objective opinion when it is your own! I will definitely bring up the tambourine and clap tracks with the producer. As far as my drum track, it seemed to be happening without the additional overdubs, but I will ask for a mixed version of the tune to analyze the drum take better. Thanks again for the intelligible insight!

nice jameriqui sound.......could have lived w/out the 16th note section....time is good, but I agree...a little on top...probably something MOST of us would have the same problem with.......didn't hear much of the toms, but that's DW for you...snare was nice, not very tight huh?.........I really liked it.....pretty damned good for no click.....I'm a Gretsch guy...it's probably best that I don't read when someone mentions that other company....hahahahahahaha!

Great track. I dig it! I agree with Randy's comment about being a little on top. I wish the snare was closer to the "clap" sound. Who did the tamborine part? The 16th note section sounds kind of wierd to me. Maybe it's the sound.
Nice stuff!!!

I hear a Stevie/Lenny Kravitz/Squeeze vibe. Nice pocket. I think being on top sounds appropriate for the tune. It all sounded fine to me. But then again... a heavier more back beatish groove would have gotten me to groove even more to the tune. But I do see what the producer was going for and I think he got it. You and the drums sound really really great man!!

Bonzo, I am a gretsch guy as well, but I have business duties to take care of! The DW's are great drums, but off the record I love my Gretsch drums! Our own Steve Holmes has taken a few wacks on my burnt orange Gretsch kit!!! Thanks for the input...
